Best Smoky Mountain Elopement Locations

Gorgeous forest Smoky Mountain Elopement location at Cataract Falls.

With the smokies as my backyard, I would like to share the best Smoky Mountain elopement locations. Whether you’re looking for easy hikes, overlooks, or convenient to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, this blog will have something to get you inspired. Let’s get into it!

Cataract Falls: Smoky Mountain Elopement Location

Cataract Falls is my favorite elopement spot in The Smoky Mountains. I love the winding path through the forest. There’s something extra special about the light as it peers through the trees. It’s just so magical. Now, the waterfall isn’t really much of a waterfall, unless we’ve had rainfall, but as you can see in the images below, it’s a beautiful backdrop nonetheless. You can view Taylor and Jonathan’s full gallery here.

Location: Cataract Falls is located behind the Sugarlands Visitor Center and is less than 10 minutes from Gatlinburg.

Top Features: Easy flat .74 mile round trip trail to waterfall. Beautiful forest and lovely golden light as the sunsets.

Business: Open to public – moderately busy depending on time of year.

Ely’s Mill: Smoky Mountain Elopement Location

Ely’s Mill is a private venue located minutes away from the Gatlinburg strip. It’s one of my favorite locations if you’re looking for a woodland oasis. Visit their website and plan your elopement today. You can view Emily and Zack’s entire gallery here.

Location: 5 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg

Top Features: Intimate, woodland, pavilion for rain, private ceremony space.

Business: Moderately busy depending on time of year. There is a general store on site, which is open to the tourists passing through. Your ceremony space however, is private and not accessible to the tourists.

Foothills Parkway: Smoky Mountain Elopement Location

Foothills Parkway is a great location to elope in the Smokies if you’re wanting beautiful mountain views. I loved being apart of Francesca and Logan’s day. You can view their entire gallery here.

Location: Foothills Parkway has multiple overlooks that make a great ceremony spot. This particular location is at mile marker 25/26.

Top Features: Beautiful mountain views, semi private, close to Gatlinburg, Maryville, and Knoxville.

Business: Open to the public. Semi buys, depends on the time of year.

Your Own Cabin in The Smokies

One of my favorite Smoky Mountain elopement locations is your own cabin or Airbnb rental. Booking a cabin to celebrate your day is convenient and intimate. Whether you’re eloping with just the two of you or you’re including a few guests, cabin elopements are quickly becoming one of my favorites to capture.
