Cataract Falls | Smoky Mountain Elopement

You’ve decided you want a Smoky Mountain elopement in East Tennessee, but are unsure where to tie the knot. Let me introduce you to Cataract Falls. A short hike and right outside Gatlinburg, makes this location perfect for those wanting to elope within the Smoky Mountain National Park and have little walking distance.

Cataract Falls

Tayler and Johnathan had a beautiful day for their forest elopement at the base of Cataract Falls in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Cataract Falls is the perfect location if want a short and easy hike. The total round trip is .75. While this waterfall is on the smaller side, the soft rushing water was a peaceful addition to their intimate ceremony.

The best part about Cataract Falls is the easy one mile (round trip) walk to the waterfall. The winding path through the woods makes an enchanted woodland aisle. Although Cataract Falls is open to the public, you can see little to no tourists given the time of year. Tayler and Jonathan’s elopement was in early March and we had the falls to ourselves. It was the perfect day.

After Tayler and Jonathan’s private ceremony, we found a quiet spot next to a stream flowing through the woods. These bride and groom portraits have been some of my favorite moments from an enchanted Smoky Mountain elopement.

You desire an approach that is relaxed, unhurried, and centered entirely around you. With gentle posing guidance you when you need a little direction and space to let sentimental moments unfold. There’s no pressure to perform or rush through the day—just space to be present, enjoy each other, and let your connection take the lead. Getting to know you is one of my favorite parts of this work. I want our relationship to feel familiar long before your wedding day, so that when the day arrives, my camera feels like a natural extension of the celebration—not a stranger watching from the sidelines. By the time you get married, you know me, trust me, and feel comfortable having me there for the intimate parts of the day.

My couples come to me specifically for a relaxed, intentional experience where they feel known, cared for, and completely themselves.

Known for professional, timely communication *and* stunning imagery, because you shouldn't have to choose.
