It’s an honor to be Blakeley and Matt’s photographer. They traveled all the way from Texas to celebrate their wedding with family and friends. They had so much joy, love, and thankfulness surrounding their day. The ceremony began with a moment to honor Blakeley’s mom. She has received a great blessing in surviving a brain aneurysm and double hit lymphoma. We were all moved by her story. God has worked in amazing ways to allowed her mom to be present for her wedding. I’m extra thankful for moments like this. It’s an honor to capture, not only your day, but the people you love who are present on your day. Life is fleeting and you never know who will be here with us one day and gone the next. Photography is a such gift.
A word of advice as you search for your photographer, hire a professional. Not a family friend who just picked up photography last month. Here’s why. The day brought a few unpredictable moments, which is to be expected, but these went beyond makeup running behind or inclement weather. Blakeley started feeling awful around the time she put on her dress, affecting her mood, and excitement for photos. I wanted to make sure she not only enjoyed her day, but was able to receive a gallery full of amazing memories despite the situation. She was my focus. I didn’t push for extra photos or ask her to pose a million different ways in the hot sun. I catered to her wishes and when she said she couldn’t take anymore photos, I listened and respected her feelings. After delivering her gallery, she sent me this.
Her text has been one of the greatest compliments I have ever received! I honestly feel like a hero! I specialize in a documentary style of photography, which allowed me to capture these memories. Memories they will look back on celebrating with family and friends despite feeling under the weather.
